About me

So who am I? Well, I'm a 30-something year old bibliophile with too many books and not enough shelves!

I live in beautiful North Wales in the UK with my husband and our tropical fish.  We're lucky enough to have the beach five minutes away in one direction and the mountains less than an hour in the other direction (though we don't go walking on either anywhere near as often as we should).

I still work full-time at the moment, as a performance analyst in our local police force, which is all maths and no creativity.  It's a good job and the people are lovely, but it's not my passion.  I've wanted to write ever since I was in primary school and I realised that I could combine my over-active imagination with a pen and create whatever I liked.  I remember writing a story when I was about twelve about a young African elephant befriending a young rhino against the wishes of their families...striving to overcome racial boundaries through literature, even as a pre-teen!

Life got in the way though once I got to high school...then university...then full-time work...and although I kept notes and scribblings of my ideas, it was only in August 2010 (after turning 30...) that I decided I should devote proper time to my writing.  My wonderful boss allowed me to rearrange my work pattern, so now I work long hours four days a week and have every Wednesday off.  Wednesdays are Writing Days!

I adore lots of random things (including: the colour yellow, Japan, unicorns, Disney and Ylang Ylang essential oil) but my desert island luxury would be my Kindle - I couldn't bear to be without reading material!  Of course, I could still write, as long as I had a stick to scratch in the sand... ;o)
